Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how halafeel.com uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and device identifiers), why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more broadly.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember something about your visit — a preference you set, whether you are logged in, or which ad slot you have already been shown. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (“session cookies”); others stay for a defined period (“persistent cookies”).

We also refer below to similar technologies — local storage, pixels, and device or browser identifiers — which serve comparable purposes and are subject to the same choices you make in your browser and through the opt-out tools listed in Section 6.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function securely and cannot be switched off through our site. They do not track you across other websites.

2.2 Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand aggregate traffic — how many people visit, which tools are used, and which pages are helpful. Our primary analytics tool, Umami, is cookieless and does not store cookies or persistent identifiers in your browser. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate performance and traffic insight; it is likewise designed to work without cookies. Because these tools do not rely on cookies, they are not affected by the cookie controls in Section 6, though they may still record standard server-side request data described in our Privacy Policy.

2.3 Advertising

We display advertising supplied by Google AdSense and its advertising partners. These cookies allow advertising systems to limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and — where personalised advertising is enabled — select ads based on your prior browsing. Google and its partners may also use cookies to show ads on other sites you visit. These are third-party cookies: they are set and read by Google and its partners, not by us, and we cannot inspect or delete them directly. You can control them through the opt-out tools in Section 6.

3. Cookies You May Encounter on This Site

The table below lists the main cookies involved. Third-party providers can change cookie names and lifetimes, so treat the periods as indicative rather than exact.

Cookie Set by Purpose Typical duration
wordpress_test_cookie halafeel.com Checks that your browser accepts cookies so forms and navigation work correctly Session

comment_author_*, comment_author_email_*, comment_author_url_* halafeel.com Remembers your name, email, and website so you do not have to retype them when leaving another comment. Only set if you submit a comment Up to 1 year
__cf_bm Cloudflare Security and bot management, protecting the site from automated abuse Up to 30 minutes
__gads, __gpi Google Advertising: measures ad performance, limits repeated ads, and supports ad personalisation across Google properties Up to 13 months
IDE Google (DoubleClick) Advertising: identifies a browser for ad targeting and frequency capping on partner sites Up to 13 months
test_cookie Google (DoubleClick) Advertising: checks whether your browser permits cookies so ad serving can adapt About 15 minutes
NID Google Advertising and preferences: stores preferences and supports ad delivery on Google properties Up to 6 months

Advertising cookies may also be supplemented by other third-party vendors or ad networks working with Google. Google publishes the list of vendors that may use cookies for advertising, and you can review your own Google ad settings at any time (see Section 6).

4. Your Consent and Regional Choices

Where the law requires it, we rely on the consent choices available through the advertising systems and the controls described below. Under the EU and UK GDPR and the ePrivacy rules, cookies that are not strictly necessary require a lawful basis; personalised advertising in particular requires your consent. Under the CCPA/CPRA in California, some advertising-related cookie use may be treated as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you have the right to opt out of it.

Please note: where a visitor’s consent cannot be established, Google serves non-personalised advertising rather than personalised advertising. Non-personalised ads still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregate reporting, and fraud prevention, but they are not selected based on your prior browsing behaviour. If you want personalised ads to stop entirely, use the opt-out tools in Section 6 — that choice applies across all Google-served properties, not just this site.

5. Cookies and Embedded Content

Some pages may embed content or media from other sites (for example, an embedded video or a linked tool). Embedded content behaves as though you had visited the source site directly: it may set its own cookies and collect data about your visit, subject to that provider’s policies rather than ours. We have no control over those third-party cookies.

6. How to Control and Opt Out of Cookies

Google advertising. Review and change your Google ad personalisation settings at adssettings.google.com. You can turn personalised advertising off for all sites that use Google’s advertising services.

Industry opt-out tools. The following are operated by advertising industry bodies and let you opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies:

Your browser. Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies, and offers a private or incognito mode that discards them when you close the window. Look for “Privacy”, “Cookies and site data”, or “Site settings” in your browser’s settings. Blocking all cookies may cause parts of this site and others to stop working correctly. Browser help pages: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.

Do Not Track. Browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is currently no common industry standard for interpreting it, and this site does not respond to DNT signals. Use the opt-out links above instead — they are more reliable.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our tools, advertising partners, or the applicable rules change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the current version. Where a change is significant, we will make it clear on this page rather than only revising the date.

8. Contact

If you have a question about this Cookie Policy, or about how advertising and analytics work on this site, email [email protected]. We usually respond within one to two business days. See also our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Disclaimer.
